What CoinMarketCap is

CoinMarketCap publishes cryptocurrency prices, charts and market data. The site aggregates price data from multiple exchanges, converts it to USD, and presents live and historic charts for individual coins and tokens, along with market capitalization figures calculated from circulating supply multiplied by reference price.

The site also offers a crypto API used to track current and historic prices, along with additional data such as market categories, trending assets, and DEX pairs. CoinMarketCap was founded in May 2013 by Brandon Chez to provide information about cryptocurrency markets.
