Position Statement

What an amount of one token would really sell for

A price is for one token. Name the token and how much of it, and a Position Statement records what selling the whole amount would have returned at one moment, on the markets we can read. No wallet address: it is for tokens on an exchange, in custody, across several wallets, or not yet received.

You need a free account, so your statements are always there. Paid in USDC on Base.

01 Who it is for

For one holding, wherever it is kept

The Sellability check shows the same measurement on screen, free. A Position Statement is that measurement frozen, dated and kept.

A lot of one token

An early purchase, a presale allocation or an airdrop that the price says is a large sum. For large holders →

Paid in tokens

A grant or an invoice settled in a project’s own token, and the question of what it would have sold for. If you are paid in tokens →

A deal off the market

Two parties agreeing a price for an amount, who both want a figure neither of them made. For off-market deals →

02 What is on it

The whole amount, four smaller sizes, and two kinds of market

Two pages when printed. Open the sample to see exactly what you get.

The same token at five sizes

The whole amount and four smaller ones, each quoted for a real sale, so you can see where the return starts to fall away from the price.

How much could have been sold

The amount that could have left with under 1%, 3%, 5% and 10% lost, and the ceiling where a market would take no more at any price.

On-chain and order books, apart

Pools on Base, Ethereum and BNB Chain, and the order books of Coinbase and Kraken where the coin is listed. Each on its own; never added, never averaged.

A way to check the copy

A reference and a fingerprint are printed at the foot. Whoever receives it can confirm it was issued by us and has not been changed.

03 How it works

Name it, see what it would cover, then pay

$12 for one token. Two statements a year, of either kind, are included with the Wallet Exit Pass.

  1. Sign in or create an account. It is free, and it is where your statements are kept.
  2. Name the token and the amount. A coin we track by name, or a contract address and its chain. The amount is in tokens. You never give a wallet address, connect a wallet or sign anything.
  3. See what it would cover. Before any payment we show the coin we understood and the chains and exchanges the statement would measure. If we cannot measure it, we say so and nothing is charged.
  4. Pay in USDC on Base. The exact amount is shown first. Payment is final; there is no card and no refund on this rail.
  5. The measurement is taken. Within about half an hour of payment, or at 23:59 UTC on a date you choose. If a market does not answer, nothing is issued and it is tried again; a paid statement is never lost.
  6. Share the link, or print it. The link can only be read. Your browser’s “Save as PDF” makes the file.

What a Position Statement is not

Said here, and again on the face of every statement.

Not proof that anyone holds it

The amount is the one you type. No balance is read, and the statement says “a stated amount” beside it. To show what is at an address, use the Realizable Value Statement.

Not a valuation

It is a measurement. It is not an appraisal or an audit, and it does not set a figure for tax. Whether a realizable figure can be used for your purpose is a question for a qualified adviser.

Not one figure

Where a coin trades both on-chain and on an exchange, there are two answers and the statement gives both. It does not choose between them or blend them.

Not every market

3 chains and 2 exchanges. Binance is not read, and the statement names what was not. It is of the moment it is taken, never a past date.

05 What we keep

The token, the amount, and nothing about a wallet

No address is asked for, so none is stored. What is kept is kept because you asked.

Three years

A statement is kept for three years from the day it is taken. $9 keeps it three more, as often as you like.

You can delete it

From your account, at any time. The token, the amount and the record are erased. Only the reference and the fingerprint stay, so a printed copy can still be recognised.

The link is the only way in

A statement is not listed, searchable or indexed, and opening it is not recorded in our visitor statistics. A paid measurement is kept out of the free check’s own log.
