What changed

Week to 22 October

Nothing we measure moved much this week: trading volume and price are all within their usual range.

From our own measurements only, each against the month before. We do not say why a price moves. How this is worked out · Every coin this week

What it actually costs to sell ABT

Selling $100,000 of ABT returned 40.1% less than the quoted price — Illiquid at this size. Measured 2026-10-21 on Ethereum.

What Arcblock is

Arcblock (ABT) is a blockchain project that ran its initial coin offering in early 2018 and launched on 1 March 2018. According to its own material, the project set out to build what it called the first blockchain ecosystem for developing decentralized applications (DApps), describing itself as part of a "third generation" of blockchain technology.

The project's stated mechanism is an open chain access layer meant to bridge different, otherwise incompatible blockchain ecosystems, letting applications interact across chains rather than being confined to one. At the point the source material describes, the token sale had concluded and the team planned a first public release candidate of its Open Chain Access Protocol, alongside an Ethereum Blocklet prototype intended for early 2019.

Despite the original ambition of spanning multiple blockchains, ABT itself is tracked as a single-chain asset deployed on Ethereum. CoinGecko groups it under Artificial Intelligence, Infrastructure, Ethereum Ecosystem and AI Framework categories, with a "Made in USA" tag — classification that reflects sector tagging rather than any claim about current protocol activity. The source material describes a protocol at a release-candidate and prototype stage; it does not establish that the promised multi-chain bridging was ever completed, adopted, or put into measured use.

GoPlus reading, 21 October Blocking addresses: none · Pausing transfers: set, held by 0x4fd9…afd6 · GoPlus

On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.

Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.

The exit-friction index

Once a month we publish what a $100,000 exit really costs across every token we can measure. Leave an address and this month’s figure arrives straight away, and we will write again when the next index publishes. Nothing else, and never to anyone else.
