What Atoshi is

Atoshi is described in its own materials as a project aiming to build a public blockchain that extends ideas from Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to that material, its testnet has been operating for two years, supports smart contracts, and has been used to issue NFTs. The same source states the project has around 12 million users and reports daily app launches exceeding 9.6 million, with usage spreading from mainland China to Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Oceania.

The ATOS token is described as circulating within a set of applications built around the project — including an e-commerce app, a short-video app called Detok, games, a social app called Atoshi Life, a greetings app, a wallet-like Atoshikey, and an AI product. The stated ambition is to become a "Future World Coin," framed explicitly around Friedrich Hayek's theory of the denationalization of money, with blockchain positioned as a tool for enabling fast, low-cost global payments.

What's measurable is narrower than the description above. Atoshi is deployed on a single chain, Ethereum, and is classified by data providers under Entertainment and SocialFi categories rather than as core payments infrastructure. The source itself frames the network as running on a testnet, not a live independent mainnet, which means the smart-contract and NFT activity referenced took place in a test environment rather than under production conditions. Figures such as user counts and daily app launches come from the project's own account and are not independently verified here. No information is available on governance structure, token supply mechanics, or funding history, so none is asserted.

GoPlus reading, 6 October Blocking addresses: none · Pausing transfers: none · GoPlus

On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.

Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.

The exit-friction index

Once a month we publish what a $100,000 exit really costs across every token we can measure. Leave an address and this month’s figure arrives straight away, and we will write again when the next index publishes. Nothing else, and never to anyone else.
