What Dolphin is

Dolphin is a project focused on AI model development and distributed inference, centered on a product called Dolphin Network — a decentralized AI inference network.

The network lets gamers and other GPU owners repurpose idle hardware to handle a portion of its inference requests. Participants who process these requests earn network tokens, which can be used for further inference or sold to offset the cost of running the GPU. Network integrity is maintained through encryption, randomly sampled validation of submitted work, and cryptoeconomic bonding — a mechanism meant to penalize dishonest or faulty participation.

Dolphin is classified by CoinGecko under several overlapping tags — Artificial Intelligence, DePIN, Base Ecosystem, AI Applications, and Venice Ecosystem — a breadth that reflects category-tagging convention more than a settled identity. It is deployed on a single chain, Base, which means its security and liveliness are bound to that chain's own guarantees rather than being independently distributed. The source describes a mechanism for validating inference work but gives no detail on how GPU contributions are measured, what fraction of requests are actually routed to independent operators versus centralized infrastructure, or how the bonding penalties are enforced in practice. Nothing here indicates governance rights, revenue share, or a fixed token supply — only that the token is earned through inference work and intended for use or resale. Readers should treat "decentralized" as a design goal stated by the project, not a property verified independently here.

GoPlus reading, 21 October Blocking addresses: none · Pausing transfers: none · GoPlus

On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.

Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.

The exit-friction index

Once a month we publish what a $100,000 exit really costs across every token we can measure. Leave an address and this month’s figure arrives straight away, and we will write again when the next index publishes. Nothing else, and never to anyone else.
