What Lido EarnUSD is

Lido EarnUSD issues earnUSD, the share token of the Lido EarnUSD vault. The vault allocates USD-denominated deposits across strategies on Ethereum, operating under stated asset selection criteria and reporting standards.

Depositors supply USDC or USDT and receive earnUSD in return. The vault blends conservative third-party lending positions with selective exposure to other performing strategies, which may include onchain lending markets, real-world asset integrations, and structured positions. Allocations shift as market conditions change, and rewards accrue daily and auto-compound into the earnUSD balance rather than being paid out separately.

earnUSD is a vault share, not a currency pegged by design to one dollar — its value tracks the vault's underlying strategy performance, and that performance depends on whatever lending markets, RWA integrations, and structured positions the vault currently holds, none of which are detailed here as to counterparty, duration, or risk limits. The source does not say who operates or governs the vault, when it launched, or how allocation decisions are made or disclosed in practice. It runs on Ethereum only, so it carries that chain's costs and risks, and it offers no information on fees, withdrawal mechanics, or what happens to share value if an underlying strategy underperforms or fails. CoinGecko classifies it as a yield-bearing stablecoin within DeFi and the Ethereum ecosystem; whether its behavior in practice matches that label is not something this passage or the figures above establish.

Where EARNUSD lives

GoPlus reading, 24 October Blocking addresses and pausing transfers: not reported for this contract (often an upgradeable one).

On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.

Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.

The exit-friction index

Once a month we publish what a $100,000 exit really costs across every token we can measure. Leave an address and this month’s figure arrives straight away, and we will write again when the next index publishes. Nothing else, and never to anyone else.
