What MESSIER is
Messier is a project building a set of decentralized finance products and services, according to its own description, intended to address common problems in DeFi. The source material does not name a founding team, company, or launch date, so none is given here.
The mechanism centers on a DAO called Virgo, which operates through smart contracts. Fees collected from Messier's products across multiple networks flow into Virgo's treasury. Token stakers of M87, the native token, vote on which tokens Virgo should purchase with treasury funds; Virgo's contracts then buy those tokens and delegate them to the stakers. Separately, Virgo's contracts carry out recurring buy-and-burn operations on M87 itself, which adds liquidity to its trading pair and reduces circulating supply.
What this is not: a description with confirmed products already live and generating fees — the source speaks of products and services "being developed," not shipped, and gives no figures for treasury size, fee volume, or burn frequency. It is deployed on a single chain, Ethereum, despite being catalogued under categories spanning AI, DEX, smart-contract platform, DeFi, and zero-knowledge — a breadth of tags that reflects classification scope, not a verified feature set. The buy-and-burn mechanism depends entirely on fee inflow from products whose adoption is not measured here, and "increase its value" is the project's own framing, not a guaranteed outcome of burning supply. No founding entity, team, or launch date is disclosed in available material.
Where M87 lives
On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
