What AB is
AB, previously known as Newton, is described as an advanced blockchain ecosystem evolving from the Newton Project. It is positioned around decentralization, interoperability, and the integration of real-world assets (RWA) into on-chain systems.
The project's architecture centers on a high-performance mainnet paired with industry-specific sidechains, intended to let different sectors run tailored chains while connecting back to a common base layer. Cross-chain compatibility is described as extending to Ethereum, Solana, and other networks, positioning AB as a bridge-capable system rather than an isolated chain.
What's measured tells a narrower story than the ecosystem description suggests: AB is currently deployed on a single chain, BNB Smart Chain, with no additional deployments recorded. The cross-chain compatibility with Ethereum and Solana described in its own materials is not reflected in where the token actually lives today. CoinGecko groups it under BNB Chain Ecosystem and Binance Alpha Spotlight — categorical tags reflecting platform association and listing context, not a verification of the RWA or sidechain functionality claimed. The asset's first recorded appearance dates to December 18, 2018, under its earlier Newton identity; what changed at the rebrand, and whether the sidechain and RWA components described exist in working form versus roadmap form, is not something these facts confirm one way or the other.
Where AB lives
On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
