What Pentagon Chain is
Pentagon Chain is a Layer-2 blockchain built for gaming, decentralized social worlds, and AI-powered applications, with the token PC serving as its native gas token. PC was first minted on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token. The project describes itself as having grown out of the Pentagon Games ecosystem into a broader system called Pentagon AI, covering agent identity, on-chain AI infrastructure, and digital IP economies, and identifies its network with Chain ID 3344.
PC functions as the unit that pays for activity across this system: transaction fees, network participation incentives, and interactions within the Pentagon Games ecosystem. The stack includes ANIMA (ERC-8170), described as an AI-native NFT standard giving agents provenance, persistent memory, and portable identity; PEG.GG, for encrypted on-chain storage and identity persistence; and AgentCert.io, for agent certification. Additional pieces include Pentagon Games for IP and onboarding, PFP Vault as a marketplace for agent-linked assets, and PentaSwap as a native decentralized exchange. According to the source, every action across these components — registration, storage, trading, certification, execution — routes through PC.
Independent classification places PC in the Gaming (GameFi) and Ethereum Ecosystem categories, and deployment data shows it live on a single chain, Ethereum — not on a separate Layer-2 network of its own, despite the project's description of Pentagon Chain as a distinct chain with its own Chain ID. That gap between the stated architecture and the observed deployment is worth noting on its own terms. The token's utility is also bundled across several sub-products — an NFT standard, a storage layer, a certification service, a marketplace, and a DEX — none of which are independently measured here; whether each is active, adopted, or merely announced is not something this passage or the deployment data settles.
Where PC lives
