What GAL (migrated to Gravity - G) is

GAL is the former token of Galxe, a web3 growth-platform provider, and has been migrated to G, the token of Gravity, Galxe's Layer 1 blockchain. The migration was carried out to align the token with Galxe's shift toward this new chain. Details of the migration process are documented by Galxe itself, with a help-center article covering the conversion from GAL to G.

G functions as the native utility token of the Gravity blockchain and the wider Galxe ecosystem. It is used as the gas token for paying transaction fees, is staked to help secure the network, and is used in governance decisions. Beyond that, it is described as playing a role in payments and incentivized growth activity across platforms built on or connected to Gravity, which is positioned as a high-performance Layer 1 chain underpinning Galxe's onboarding, identity, and engagement tools.

What this entry does not establish: it does not confirm a fixed exchange ratio, conversion deadline, or mechanism by which legacy GAL holders receive G, since that detail lives outside this passage. It does not verify Gravity's claimed throughput or user counts independently. The listed classifications — spanning Smart Contract Platform, SocialFi, NFT, DID, and Zero Knowledge tags — describe categories CoinGecko applies rather than functions confirmed for this specific token, and a token can carry a tag without meaningfully operating in that category. Deployment is recorded on Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum; whether G itself, as opposed to the legacy GAL contract, remains active identically on both chains post-migration is not addressed here. Governance and staking utility, as described, do not by themselves imply revenue-sharing or profit rights for holders.

The exit-friction index

Once a month we publish what a $100,000 exit really costs across every token we can measure. Leave an address and this month’s figure arrives straight away, and we will write again when the next index publishes. Nothing else, and never to anyone else.
