COTOR
COTOR was never launched. Cryptominium has no token
What COTOR was, why it is not coming back, and why a company that measures tokens should not issue one.
What COTOR was
COTOR was a reward token planned in Cryptominium's early years, meant to reward people for using the site. Its website, cotor.io, is gone. The token was never launched: it was never offered to the public by Cryptominium and never became part of the site.
Old descriptions of COTOR on token lists and data sites may still name the Cryptominium platform. They describe a plan that was dropped. A token contract on a blockchain cannot be deleted by anyone, so the name may keep turning up; that does not make it live, and it does not make it ours to sell.
It will not be revived
We have no plan to revive COTOR, or to launch any other token under the Cryptominium name.
Why Cryptominium does not issue a token
- We measure tokens. Our work is measuring what crypto could actually be sold for. If we held a token of our own, we would have a stake in the prices and markets we report on. A measurement is only worth something if the people taking it gain nothing from the result.
- A token is a reason to trade. We do not make price predictions or give trading signals, and we do not tell anyone to buy, sell or hold. A token of our own would be exactly that: something we would want people to buy.
- Nothing here needs one. Our tools are free or paid for with ordinary money, or with common crypto such as bitcoin or USDC. There is no feature, discount or membership that a token would unlock.
- We answer to the people who use the tools. A token sold to the public makes a company answerable to the token's price and its holders, and raises questions of securities law. We would rather be judged on whether the measurements are right.
- No token means nothing to fake. Scammers sell fake tokens under real company names. Because we have none, the rule is simple: any Cryptominium token, presale or airdrop is a fake.
What Cryptominium is
An independent measurement service: search for any coin, address or question, and see who we are and how we measure. We take no custody of anyone's assets and never ask for a recovery phrase or keys.
