What do WAGMI, NGMI and diamond hands mean?
WAGMI means "we're all gonna make it", a show of shared optimism; NGMI, "not gonna make it", mocks a choice seen as unwise. Diamond hands are holders who keep through big drops; paper hands sell at the first sign of fear.
What it means for you
These are attitudes, not analysis. "Diamond hands" can be used to talk people out of selling, and "NGMI" to shame them into buying. A slogan says how a crowd feels, not whether an asset can be sold or what it is worth.
How it works
Binance Academy describes WAGMI, "we're all gonna make it", as collective optimism during volatility or setbacks; NGMI, "not gonna make it", as describing decisions seen as unwise, such as panic-selling or falling for scams; and GMI as the personal version of WAGMI, noting all three are cultural sentiment rather than investment assessments. It defines diamond hands as holding through significant drops and volatility, and paper hands as selling quickly on downturns, bad news or short-term fear.
