What is an NFT floor price?
An NFT collection's floor price is the lowest asking price among the items currently listed for sale in that collection. It is not an average, and it moves as listings are added, bought or withdrawn.
What it means for you
The floor is what the cheapest seller is asking, not what the collection is worth or what yours would sell for. Rare items usually list above it, and in a thin market the floor can drop sharply when a few holders list at once.
How it works
OpenSea defines the floor price as the lowest price for a collection's items rather than the average item price, updated in real time, and shows it over time in a collection's analytics. Because it comes from listings, it reflects asking prices: a listed item sells only when a buyer accepts that price, and items can sell below the old floor if sellers lower their prices. Marketplaces calculate it from their own listings, so the floor shown on one marketplace can differ from another.
