Wallet drainer
A wallet drainer is malicious code, usually behind a fake website, that tricks you into connecting your wallet and approving a transaction or permission. Once approved, it moves your coins, tokens and NFTs to wallets the criminals control, sometimes immediately and sometimes later.
What it means for you. A drainer does not need your seed phrase; one signature granting spending permission can be enough, and that permission can stay open after you leave the site. Read what a wallet prompt is asking before you sign, and revoke approvals you no longer use. Assets taken this way are usually moved quickly and are rarely recovered.

Phishing
Phishing is a scam in which someone pretends to be a company, service or person you know, usually by email, text or a fake website, to trick you into handing over information. In crypto the target is often your seed phrase, your login, or a signature from your wallet.
What it means for you. A real wallet app or exchange never asks for your seed phrase; anyone who has it can empty the wallet. Phishing sites copy real ones, so check the exact web address before connecting a wallet or typing a password. Crypto sent or signed away on a fake site usually cannot be reversed.
