What CoinGate is
CoinGate is a crypto payment gateway for businesses that lets customers accept Bitcoin, USDC, and other crypto assets, and settle into EUR, USD, or stablecoins. The platform supports invoicing, checkout integration, payouts, and currency conversion, with plugins available for platforms such as WooCommerce and WHMCS, and an API for custom integrations.
The service operates as a MiCA-licensed crypto payment provider in the EU, applying AML and KYC checks. Customers can hold crypto and fiat balances in one account, convert between currencies, export account statements and CSV reports for accounting, and manage payouts to bank accounts or crypto wallets. Crypto purchases and sales on the platform are provided by third parties Transak and Simplex, and gift cards are sold by a separate, unregulated entity.
