What Adshares is
Adshares is a Web3 protocol for monetizing space in the Metaverse, used by adserver platforms that let users rent space inside blockchain games, NFT exhibitions, Metaverse environments and websites. Development began in 2017. The project describes itself as an umbrella maintaining a decentralized network, with the aim of governance moving to a DAO-style community model.
The protocol lets anyone build their own adserver using open-source blockchain tools, with $ADS holders positioned to take a share of the monetization this generates. Advertising transactions run through what the source describes as a fully decentralized marketplace. The token supply is designed to be deflationary, through native burning and dividend mechanisms. $ADS runs on its own dPoS blockchain and is also deployed cross-chain to Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and Polygon.
What this description does not establish: how large the adserver network actually is, how much advertising volume moves through the marketplace, or how DAO-style the governance currently is in practice versus intent. The deflationary mechanism is asserted but no burn rate or dividend yield is given here. The asset is tracked as deployed across Base, Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum and Polygon, and classified by CoinGecko under DeFi, Marketing, and several ecosystem tags including Metaverse — a spread that suggests a project touching several categories rather than dominating one. First recorded in August 2018, which postdates the stated 2017 start of development; the gap is not explained in the source. No figures on holder distribution, usage, or token circulation accompany these claims.
Where ADS lives
On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
