What Autonolas is
Autonolas (also called Olas) is a network of off-chain services — automation, oracles, co-owned AI agents — built on a composable stack with a protocol for incentivizing their creation. Its stated aim is to let these services run in a co-owned, decentralized way rather than under a single operator. The Autonolas DAO was established in summer 2022, with a public token launch via a liquidity bootstrapping pool in July 2023. One cited use case is Governatooorr, an AI-enabled governance delegate for DAOs.
The OLAS token is the access and coordination mechanism for the network. Staking OLAS lets participants operate off-chain services; locking it into veOLAS confers governance rights. Governance holders can direct OLAS-funded incentives ("useful code") toward ETH donations for services they find valuable, steering which agent-based software gets built. Token holders can also bond LP shares containing OLAS into the protocol to build protocol-owned liquidity, termed "useful capital." The project describes itself as expanding chain support over time, with the goal of operating across every major blockchain.
Autonolas is classified by CoinGecko under AI and under several chain-ecosystem tags — Solana, Polygon, Gnosis Chain, Arbitrum, Celo, Ethereum, and Optimism — reflecting that it is deployed across a wide set of networks (including arbitrum-one, base, celo, ethereum, mode, optimism, polygon-pos, robinhood, solana, and xdai) rather than tied to one chain. That breadth is a structural fact, not evidence of usage or adoption on any particular chain. The token's roles are defined entirely by protocol mechanics — staking, governance locking, incentive steering, liquidity bonding — and the source makes no claim of revenue share, buybacks, or cash flow to holders. Whether "useful code" and "useful capital" translate into active, widely used autonomous services at any given time is not something this description, or its source material, measures.
Where OLAS lives
On Solana, a mint authority can create more of the token and a freeze authority can freeze it in a holder's account; both are read from the token itself, every day. On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
