What it actually costs to sell BEAM
Selling $100,000 of BEAM into each exchange’s resting bids, measured against the mid price:
| Exchange | Lost | Got back | Measured |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coinbase BEAM/USD | 4.12% | $95,880 | 2026-11-04 |
| Kraken BEAM/USD | 42.6% | $57,379 | 2026-11-04 |
Exchange figures need an account there (and KYC, a permitted country, the tokens already deposited), are before trading fees, and are never averaged with the on-chain figure. Binance is not included: it refuses requests from the region our servers are in. How this is measured →
Watch this number instead of remembering it. A free account keeps BEAM on a list, records where it stood the day you added it, and emails you if selling it on these exchanges gets materially harder — one message, not a series. The measurement itself stays public; the account is for being told when it moves without you looking.
What Beam is
Beam is the native token of the Beam ecosystem, issued as an ERC-20 token. It functions as the infrastructure layer underlying transactions on the Beam Network, the base on which the project is built.
According to its own description, Beam exists to let developers, creators, and users build and exchange digital experiences across several sectors at once — gaming, artificial intelligence, NFTs, and real-world assets (RWAs). The token's stated role is transactional: it is what moves value through the network that supports these activities. Beyond that framing, the source does not specify a consensus mechanism, a fee model, a supply schedule, or how governance, if any, is structured.
BEAM is deployed across multiple chains — Avalanche, Base, BNB Chain, and Ethereum — which means its supply and liquidity are distributed rather than concentrated on one ledger; bridging and wrapped representations may exist between them, each carrying its own operational risk. CoinGecko groups it under several categories at once (Smart Contract Platform, GameFi, NFT, and multiple chain ecosystems), which reflects breadth of association rather than a single defined utility. Nothing in the source indicates that holding BEAM confers a claim on revenue, equity, or protocol fees; it is described purely as a transactional and infrastructural token. No founding date, founding entity, or team is named in the material available, so none is stated here.
Where BEAM lives
On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
