What it actually costs to sell BONK
Selling $100,000 of BONK into each exchange’s resting bids, measured against the mid price:
| Exchange | Lost | Got back | Measured |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kraken BONK/USD | 0.53% | $99,471 | 2026-11-04 |
| Coinbase BONK/USD | 0.86% | $99,136 | 2026-11-04 |
Exchange figures need an account there (and KYC, a permitted country, the tokens already deposited), are before trading fees, and are never averaged with the on-chain figure. Binance is not included: it refuses requests from the region our servers are in. How this is measured →
Watch this number instead of remembering it. A free account keeps BONK on a list, records where it stood the day you added it, and emails you if selling it on these exchanges gets materially harder — one message, not a series. The measurement itself stays public; the account is for being told when it moves without you looking.
What Bonk is
Bonk is a dog-themed memecoin launched on the Solana blockchain on Christmas Day 2022, created in the aftermath of the FTX collapse to help revitalize the Solana community. It was built by an anonymous team of 22 Solana developers and builders, who distributed 50% of the total 100 trillion token supply via airdrop to community members, including NFT collectors, developers, and artists.
Bonk operates on a fair-launch model, rejecting venture capital funding in favor of broad community distribution. Token holders participate in governance through BonkDAO, which holds 15% of supply and votes on-chain. The project has built out supporting infrastructure, including LetsBonk.fun, a memecoin launchpad; BonkSwap, a decentralized exchange; and BonkBot, a Telegram trading tool with burn mechanics built in. Community-organized burn events, such as the December 2024 BURNmas campaign, have periodically removed tokens from circulation. In 2025, a Nasdaq-listed company formed a subsidiary to acquire a stake in BONK's circulating supply and took a revenue share in LetsBonk.fun, an early instance of corporate treasury interest in a memecoin.
BONK carries no technical utility beyond its native ecosystem tools; it is classified across multiple blockchain-ecosystem categories and the broader meme and dog-themed segments, and is deployed on eight networks including Aptos, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Neon EVM, Polygon, Solana, and Unichain. This multi-chain presence reflects distribution, not independent functionality — the asset's behavior and value are tied to sentiment rather than protocol revenue, and holding the token confers no claim on the earnings of any affiliated business, including the LetsBonk.fun revenue share held elsewhere. The founding team's anonymity means there is no identifiable party accountable for the project's direction. As with any memecoin, its price history is a record of attention, not of underlying cash flow or enforceable utility.
Where BONK lives
On Solana, a mint authority can create more of the token and a freeze authority can freeze it in a holder's account; both are read from the token itself, every day. On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
