Measured

Read from our own records when this page was made. It describes what we know, and is not a view on whether to hold ESP. How each part is worked out

What changed

Week to 14 October

From our own measurements only, each against the month before. We do not say why a price moves. How this is worked out · Every coin this week

What it actually costs to sell ESP

Selling $100,000 of ESP into each exchange’s resting bids, measured against the mid price:

ExchangeLostGot backMeasured
Kraken ESP/USD 81.1% $18,906 2026-10-14
Coinbase ESP/USD the book could not absorb it 2026-10-14

Exchange figures need an account there (and KYC, a permitted country, the tokens already deposited), are before trading fees, and are never averaged with the on-chain figure. Binance is not included: it refuses requests from the region our servers are in. How this is measured →

Watch this number instead of remembering it. A free account keeps ESP on a list, records where it stood the day you added it, and emails you if selling it on these exchanges gets materially harder — one message, not a series. The measurement itself stays public; the account is for being told when it moves without you looking.

What Espresso is

Espresso is described as a global confirmation layer that gives layer-2 chains fast, reliable transaction confirmations backed by BFT (Byzantine Fault Tolerant) consensus. The source does not name a founding entity or a launch date.

The mechanism centers on confirmations that chains can use for more than just their own transaction ordering. By plugging into the network, a chain gets near-instant, credibly neutral information about activity across other connected chains, which the source says can improve cross-chain composability. The confirmation layer is also positioned to prevent sequencer equivocation, protect against reorgs, and reduce finality risk for solvers operating in intent-based systems. Beyond confirmations, the same infrastructure can reportedly be used by chains as a decentralized sequencer or as a low-cost data availability layer.

ESP is classified by CoinGecko under Infrastructure, Arbitrum Ecosystem, Ethereum Ecosystem, Rollups-as-a-Service, and launchpad-related tags including Binance Wallet IDO and Kaito's Capital Launchpad, and is deployed on Arbitrum One and Ethereum. This is infrastructure for chains and sequencers, not an end-user product — there is nothing here describing a consumer application, and no figures are given for the number of chains actually connected or using the confirmation layer in production. The source makes no claims about token utility, revenue, or fee capture, so none should be assumed: being classified across multiple ecosystem and launchpad tags does not by itself indicate adoption, and a BFT consensus design does not by itself guarantee the specific security properties described (equivocation prevention, reorg protection) hold under all conditions. Anyone evaluating it should look for independent confirmation of how many chains are live on the network, separate from the categories listed above.

GoPlus reading, 11 October Blocking addresses and pausing transfers: not reported for this contract (often an upgradeable one).

On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.

Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.

The exit-friction index

Once a month we publish what a $100,000 exit really costs across every token we can measure. Leave an address and this month’s figure arrives straight away, and we will write again when the next index publishes. Nothing else, and never to anyone else.
