What it actually costs to sell AI
Selling $100,000 of AI into each exchange’s resting bids, measured against the mid price:
| Exchange | Lost | Got back | Measured |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kraken AI/USD | 24.4% | $75,615 | 2026-10-09 |
| Coinbase AI/USD | the book could not absorb it | 2026-10-09 | |
Exchange figures need an account there (and KYC, a permitted country, the tokens already deposited), are before trading fees, and are never averaged with the on-chain figure. Binance is not included: it refuses requests from the region our servers are in. How this is measured →
Watch this number instead of remembering it. A free account keeps AI on a list, records where it stood the day you added it, and emails you if selling it on these exchanges gets materially harder — one message, not a series. The measurement itself stays public; the account is for being told when it moves without you looking.
What Gensyn is
Gensyn, described as the Network for Machine Intelligence, is an open infrastructure layer for AI. It is positioned to provide the foundational infrastructure AI needs to operate at scale, including compute, data, and information exchange, by enabling both humans and machines to participate in open digital markets. It is backed by a16z crypto, CoinFund, Galaxy Digital, Eden Block, Maven 11, and others.
The network is built with native support for AI communication, identification, and verification. The stated aim is to serve as an economic backbone for continual learning over decentralised AI models and applications, coordinating these processes without centralised control.
What this amounts to in practice is not established by the source material: it does not say when Gensyn was founded, who its founders are, or what stage the network has reached toward the goals described. It is classified by data providers under categories including Artificial Intelligence, Smart Contract Platform, and Ethereum Ecosystem, and deployments are recorded on Ethereum and on Gensyn's own chain — a dual presence that says nothing on its own about usage or adoption. The source is a project description of intent, not a technical account of a working market for compute or data; claims of operating "at scale" and coordination "without centralised control" are the project's framing, not independently verified outcomes.
Where AI lives
On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
