What Halo is
Halo is a permissionless peer-to-peer marketplace for AI inference, built on Base. The stated aim is to let anyone access any AI model without an account, an API key, or a gatekeeper standing between user and model.
The network works by aggregating operators who serve models they can reach — ranging from frontier APIs to open-weights models run on their own hardware — into a single marketplace. No single company runs this marketplace, and the design intends that no jurisdiction can shut it off, since access is distributed across independent operators rather than routed through one provider.
What this is not: the source describes a marketplace mechanism, not a model, a compute guarantee, or a quality standard — it says nothing about pricing, latency, uptime, or how output from one operator is verified against another. It is not a single company's product; responsibility for any given inference is distributed across whichever operator served it, which also means there is no stated central party accountable for failures. It is classified under AI, Base Ecosystem, and Robinhood Ecosystem categories, and deployed on Base and Robinhood — categorization that describes where it sits, not what it guarantees. No claim here covers token supply, governance rights, or revenue accrual, because the source makes none.
Where HALO lives
On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
