What IXS is

IXS describes itself as the licensed yield layer for agentic finance — onchain infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets meant to be held and used by both human allocators and autonomous agents. It is licensed under the Digital Assets and Registered Exchanges (DARE) Act by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas, and lists institutional backers including Coinbase Ventures, UOB Venture Management, Spartan Group, and Abed Group. The source does not give a founding date.

Access to the platform's tokenized exposure — U.S. Treasuries, private credit, and BTC yield from licensed institutional issuers, with stated target yields of 4-12% APY — runs through ERC-4626 vaults. There are two tiers: permissioned vaults for qualified participants, and permissionless vaults with no KYC at the protocol layer, intended to let agents connect without a human in the loop. U.S. investors reach the platform through a chaperoning broker-dealer. The $IXS token has a fixed supply of 180 million, fully circulating with no remaining lockups, and the protocol runs a buy-back-and-burn that retires tokens tied to platform activity. The token is deployed on Ethereum, Polygon, and Base.

The 4-12% APY figures are stated targets, not guaranteed or historical returns, and nothing in the source commits to a floor. The DARE Act license covers a Bahamian regime; it is not a license in every jurisdiction a holder might sit in, and the "no KYC at the protocol layer" permissionless vaults sit alongside a separate permissioned, compliance-gated tier — the two are not interchangeable. The buy-back-and-burn reduces supply only as a function of platform activity, so its pace is not fixed or predictable from the token design alone. CoinGecko groups $IXS under AI, RWA, Ethereum, Polygon, and Base ecosystem tags, plus Coinbase Ventures and DWF Labs portfolio tags; these are classification labels, not performance claims. Confirmed deployment is on Base, Ethereum, and Polygon-PoS.

On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.

Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.

The exit-friction index

Once a month we publish what a $100,000 exit really costs across every token we can measure. Leave an address and this month’s figure arrives straight away, and we will write again when the next index publishes. Nothing else, and never to anyone else.
