What Paradex is
Paradex is a decentralized exchange offering trading in perpetual futures, spot markets, options, and pre-markets, spanning more than 250 instruments. The source material does not identify a founding company or a launch date.
The exchange runs on Paradex Chain, a Layer-2 network built initially as Starknet's first appchain, developed with StarkWare and using Starknet technology with added custom components, including an in-development virtual machine called DimeVM. Trading is self-custodial. Privacy is handled through a multi-layered zero-knowledge design: encrypted state commitments are posted to Ethereum, access to the Layer-2 chain goes through authenticated RPC, and order matching happens off-chain — together intended to keep positions, entry and exit prices, liquidation levels, and profit/loss figures hidden from public view while settlement remains verifiable on-chain.
What this is not: it is not a single-chain product in the way the underlying architecture might suggest. CoinGecko classifies it under decentralized exchange and DeFi categories, and also tags it to both the Solana and Ethereum ecosystems, with deployments recorded on Ethereum and Solana — a broader footprint than the Starknet-appchain description alone implies, and the source gives no account of how these pieces fit together. The privacy system is described as multi-layered and zero-knowledge, but no audit, third-party verification, or track record is mentioned here. DimeVM is described as "evolving," which means its current state and its final form are not the same thing. Nothing in the source addresses governance, fee structure, or how the DIME token itself functions within this system — those remain outside what can be stated.
Where DIME lives
On Solana, a mint authority can create more of the token and a freeze authority can freeze it in a holder's account; both are read from the token itself, every day. On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
