What RHEA is
RHEA is a platform built on the NEAR ecosystem that combines two existing DeFi primitives — Ref, a decentralized exchange, and Burrow, a lending protocol — with a bridge called the Satoshi Bridge that connects Bitcoin to this activity. The source material does not name a founding team or a launch date.
The mechanism is integration rather than invention: RHEA does not replace Ref or Burrow but sits across them, letting a user move capital into both trading and lending positions from one interface. The stated draw is that a Bitcoin holder can deploy BTC into this system directly, via the Satoshi Bridge, without separately managing a NEAR wallet or manually bridging assets chain by chain. The aim described is consolidation of steps that would otherwise require multiple wallets and multiple bridges into a single entry point.
RHEA is not a new DEX or lending market in its own right — the yield-generating logic belongs to Ref and Burrow, and RHEA's value depends on those staying operational and liquid. It is not confined to NEAR in deployment: it is also recorded on BNB Chain and Solana, which the source text does not explain, so how the Near-based integration relates to those deployments is not established here. Bridging BTC through any bridge, including the Satoshi Bridge, carries the standard bridge-custody and smart-contract risk that is intrinsic to that category of infrastructure, regardless of how the interface is framed. No figures on the platform's yields, fees, deposited value, or token supply are available from this material, and none should be inferred from the "DeFi" or "BTCfi" classifications alone — those describe category, not performance.
Where RHEA lives
On Solana, a mint authority can create more of the token and a freeze authority can freeze it in a holder's account; both are read from the token itself, every day. On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
