What World Mobile Token is
World Mobile Token (WMTX) is the utility token of the World Mobile network, a decentralized mobile network positioned within the DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure) category. The network's stated aim is to connect users globally by combining blockchain technology with a sharing-economy model for telecom services. The source does not specify a founding entity or launch date.
The token has two stated uses: operating an AirNode, which lets a participant provide telco service to customers in exchange for rewards, and staking WMTX to help secure the network, also in exchange for rewards. Beyond naming these two roles, the source does not describe the reward formula, how AirNode coverage is verified, or how staking returns are calculated.
WMTX is deployed across five chains — Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain, Cardano, and Solana — which means its supply and liquidity are split across separate ledgers rather than consolidated on one. CoinGecko tags it under a wide spread of categories, including AI, DePIN, and four separate chain-ecosystem labels; this reflects how the asset is indexed, not a claim about what it does. The source's description of "disrupting the trillion-dollar telco industry" is a stated ambition, not a measured outcome, and no figures here speak to actual AirNode counts, network coverage, or telco revenue captured by the protocol. Anyone evaluating the token on telecom-disruption grounds should look for independent data on AirNode deployment and usage, since none is supplied in the source material.
Where WMTX lives
On Solana, a mint authority can create more of the token and a freeze authority can freeze it in a holder's account; both are read from the token itself, every day. On Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, GoPlus's analysis of each contract is read weekly: whether it has a function to block addresses or pause transfers, and whether an owner holds it. That is GoPlus's reading, not ours. Where a token exists on several chains, one copy's settings say nothing about the original coin.
Always verify a contract address against the project's own site before sending anything. Addresses are shown as published by CoinGecko, not as an endorsement — and identical-looking tokens on other chains are the most common way people lose money here.
