How Ethereum and TRON actually differ
This is the comparison that explains where stablecoins actually move. Ethereum is the general-purpose settlement layer most of crypto's financial infrastructure is written for. Tron is a cheaper chain that has captured an enormous share of one specific job: sending USDT. For many people outside the US, "sending dollars" means sending Tether on Tron, because it costs a fraction of what the same transfer costs on Ethereum's base layer.
The reason is the design. Tron uses delegated proof of stake with a small elected set of block producers, which is fast and cheap and concentrates control. Ethereum's validator set is far larger and its blocks deliberately scarce, which keeps the base layer verifiable by ordinary hardware and pushes cheap activity onto layer-2 rollups. Both are technically compatible with Ethereum-style smart contracts, so the code is similar; the governance and the failure modes are not.
The costs are real on both sides. Ethereum's base-layer fees price out small transfers, and its rollup answer spreads users across chains that do not interoperate cleanly. Tron is inexpensive and reliable in practice but is closely associated with its founder, has a far smaller and more centralised set of block producers, and its dominance in low-cost dollar transfers has also made it a favoured rail for scams and sanctions evasion — which is a fact about the traffic, not a fault in the code.

Ethereum is a programmable blockchain launched in 2015 by Vitalik Buterin and a group of co-founders. Where Bitcoin tracks who owns what, Ethereum runs code: smart contracts that execute exactly as written, which is what most stablecoins, lending protocols and NFTs are actually built on.
TRON
TRON is a blockchain launched in 2017 by Justin Sun, designed for high transaction throughput and very low fees. Its practical significance is narrower and larger than its marketing suggests: TRON carries an enormous share of global USDT transfers, particularly for users in emerging markets sending dollars across borders.
