Bitcoin Depot
Ran Bitcoin ATMs in the US, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong (about 9,700 at the end of 2025, by its own count) until May 2026, when it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, took its machines offline and began winding down and selling its assets. In 2025 Iowa's Attorney General sued it, alleging it profited from scam victims through excessive, often hidden fees and misled them about refunds; in 2026 Massachusetts's Attorney General sued it, alleging it misled customers about prices, knowingly facilitated scams and refused refunds to victims. Both cases are pending.
